14/14 concept project
Halny Energia: solar, heat pumps, air conditioning · Masovia
Visitors enter their bill and roof direction and see estimated savings, while the owner builds pages from ready-made blocks.
Concept project - how I would build a website for a business in this field: solar, heat pumps, air conditioning. The business and its details are fictional.

01The challenge
Solar panels or a heat pump are a big expense, and the first question every customer asks is: how much will I save? An installer wants to collect requests for a free home survey and add new projects and pages on its own, without calling an agency. This is the second WordPress demo in the portfolio: it shows how I build a site from custom blocks and a custom plugin, no page builder.
02What I did
-
Pages built from ready-made blocks
In the WordPress editor the owner has 9 custom blocks: the house cross-section, the calculator, the project map, the process, the survey form, FAQs and more. A page for a new service is put together like building blocks, with a live preview. Changing how a block looks updates it on every page at once.
-
A calculator that does not overpromise
Visitors set their monthly bill, the roof direction on a compass and the type of installation, and the page shows an approximate number of panels and savings over 10 years. The server does the maths, so the result is the same even without JavaScript. The result is labelled “an estimate, not an offer”, the assumptions such as the power price are explained on the page, and the owner changes them in the dashboard. No installation cost or grant amounts, because that would be guesswork.

Projects on a map of Masovia
Each project is an entry in the dashboard with a town and installation type, and its dot appears on the county map by itself. The solar, heat pump and air conditioning filters respond instantly, and without JavaScript they are plain links. The map is drawn with code, without Google Maps, so it does not slow the page down.
-
A free survey with no CAPTCHA
The form stops spam without a CAPTCHA: a bot trap, a check on how long filling it in took and a request limit. Each request is saved in the dashboard and sent over a secured connection to a CRM, and if the CRM does not respond, the site retries on its own. It works without JavaScript too. On the demo the form does not contact anyone.
-
The sun over the house
On the first screen a line draws a cross-section of the house, the sun travels in an arc from 8:00 to 16:00, the chimney shadow moves across the roof, and then energy flows to the heat pump and the air conditioner. A slider lets visitors set the time of day themselves. The animation can be paused, and with reduced motion the page shows midday straight away.

Two languages and honest labels
The English version is written by hand, projects included. The business is fictional and the number is all zeros. The photos are AI-generated and labelled on the site as illustrative.
03Result
A two-language installer website the owner grows himself from ready-made blocks: a savings calculator, a project map and a survey form that goes straight to the CRM. Speed 98/100 on mobile and 100 on desktop, accessibility 100, and nothing jumps while the page loads.

How customers find this website
- Google knows it is an installer and knows its services and service area, because they are written on the page in a way it reads directly.
- The most common questions are set up so Google and AI assistants can quote the answers.
- The Polish and English versions are linked, so Google shows the right language.
- The demo is hidden from search engines, because the business is fictional.
