Frequently asked questions

Will I lose my Google rankings?

301 redirects tell Google where the new version of every page is, so the risk is small. Short fluctuations after a move do happen; that is why I watch the addresses and Search Console after launch.

Why leave WordPress at all?

If the website rarely changes, WordPress mostly brings chores: plugin updates, the risk of a break-in, slower loading. A static website on Cloudflare is faster and has nothing to patch.

What if I run a WooCommerce shop?

The shop usually stays on WooCommerce, because that is where orders and payments live. I can refresh it, speed it up and tidy it.

Will the website be down during the migration?

No. The new website is built alongside, and switching the domain is a single step.
