01The challenge
A therapy and physiotherapy practice lives by its schedule. Patients want to see a free slot without phoning, and the practice does not want to pay Booksy or ZnanyLekarz every month or hand them its patient list. This is how I would build a site for a six-person practice in Żoliborz, Warsaw: its own booking system, a calm look and nothing that adds stress before a first visit.
02What I did
-
Free slots, live
Each specialist on the list shows their next free slot. Clicking “Choose a time” opens the week right in that row, with free hours and the price, and picking an hour brings up a short form. Two people cannot book the same hour, because the database prevents it, and an 80-minute couples session takes up two hours at once.
-
No subscription, no middleman
Booking runs on the practice’s own site, with no monthly platform fee. Patient data stays with the practice, and the form asks only for contact details, never for the reason for the visit or anything about health. Spam is stopped by an invisible check and booking limits, with no CAPTCHA to type.
-
The confirmation, right on screen
After booking, patients see a “The slot is yours” card, a file to add the visit to their calendar and a link to cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before. In a real deployment the confirmation goes out by email. The demo sends nothing and only shows a preview of that message, and bookings are wiped every night.
-
The practice dashboard
The practice has a dashboard with the week’s visits: it can block an hour, cancel a visit and download a list for a spreadsheet. The dashboard code is printed on the site, so in the demo all booking details are masked: only the first letter of the name and the last three digits of the phone number remain.
-
A page that breathes
Next to the headline, thin rings like those in a tree trunk widen and draw in to the rhythm of a breath: 4 seconds in, 6 out, three times, then they stop. In the middle is a “Breathe for a minute” button with a short exercise. Three quick questions suggest who to book with, and next to them is a calm note on where to find help in a crisis.
-
Honestly labelled
The practice and its specialists are fictional, and the number is all zeros. The photos are AI-generated and labelled on the site.
03Result
A practice website with its own booking: patients find a specialist and a free hour themselves, and the practice gets a dashboard with the week’s visits and pays no subscription. Speed 96/100 on mobile and 100 on desktop, accessibility 100, and nothing jumps while the page loads.

Click a color, typeface or corner style to strip it from the preview. What remains is the bare structure - the same one every website of mine stands on.

How customers find this website
- The title says what and where: psychotherapy and physiotherapy in Żoliborz, with free slots online.
- Google knows it is a practice and knows its specialists, address and hours, because they are written on the page in a way it reads directly.
- The most common questions are set up so Google and AI assistants can quote the answers.
- The demo is hidden from search engines, because the business is fictional.
